Ingredients

3 large onions, sliced
2 Tbsp. margarine
1 Tbsp. flour
6 beef bouillon cubes
6 c. water
6 slices French bread
8 oz. Swiss cheese, grated
Parmesan cheese
salt and pepper to taste
Preparation

Cook onions in margarine about 5 minutes.
Stir in flour, salt, pepper, bouillon cubes and water.
Bring to boil, then simmer, covered, for 25 minutes.
Sprinkle sliced French bread with Parmesan cheese and toast in oven.
After soup is cooked, put in individual ovenproof bowls.
Put slice of toasted bread on top, then sprinkle with grated Swiss cheese and place in oven at 425\u00b0 for about 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove when cheese is melted.
