Ingredients

2 c. milk
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 or 4 egg yolks
pinch of salt
3 Tbsp. butter
3 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 tsp. vanilla
4 or 5 bananas
vanilla wafers
Preparation

Mix first 7 ingredients and cook until thickened.
Put layer of vanilla wafers on bottom of bowl and around sides.
Cut bananas up on top of wafers; pour filling over bananas.
Repeat layer. Beat egg whites until stiff.
Add sugar and vanilla and beat until peaks form.
Put on top of pudding and brown in oven.
