Toffee-Nut Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. soft shortening (half butter)
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 c. Gold Medal flour
Preparation
    Mix together thoroughly shortening and sugar.
    Stir in flour. Press mixture into ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan, using hand to flatten and cover bottom of pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Then spread with Almond-Coconut Topping.
