English Toffee - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. sugar
1/2 lb. butter
3 Tbsp. water
1 tsp. vanilla
almonds or pecans
6 Hershey's chocolate bars, broken into pieces
Preparation

Cook all ingredients, except nuts, in skillet until brown (approximately 10 minutes).
Stir constantly.
Butter a 9 x 13-inch pan and cover with nuts.
Pour cooked mixture into pan, over nuts. Top nuts and mixture with Hershey chocolate bars.
The heat from the mixture will melt the chocolate.
Spread the melted chocolate with a spatula.
Let cool, then break into pieces.
