Scotch Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. barley
    1/4 lb. dried peas
    2 carrots, chopped
    1/2 lb. lamb flanks, cut into bite size pieces
    3 leeks, chopped
    1 small cabbage, chopped
    1 carrot, grated
    pinch of parsley
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    The night before, soak the barley and the peas until morning.
