Chocolate Peppermint Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. all-purpose flour
2 c. sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. water
1 tsp. baking soda
2 large eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 (14 oz.) pkg. small chocolate covered peppermint patties, unwrapped
Preparation

Combine first 4 ingredients and set aside.
Combine butter and water in a large saucepan; bring to a boil.
Remove from heat; stir in soda.
Add flour mixture, stirring well.
Stir in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla extract.
Spoon into a greased and floured 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Top with peppermint patties and bake 2 additional minutes.
Gently spread melted candy over cake.
Spread Chocolate Frosting over top.
