Ingredients

6 large tomatoes
1/4 c. minced onion
2 tsp. crushed leaf basil
2 tsp. salt, divided
1/4 c. wine vinegar
3/4 c. olive or vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp. black pepper
1/2 tsp. sugar
Preparation

Line the bottom of a large serving bowl with tomato slices.
In a separate bowl, combine onion, basil and 1 teaspoon of the salt. Sprinkle some of the onion mixture over tomatoes in bowl.
Layer remaining tomato slices, sprinkling onion mixture over each layer.
