Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    4 oz. sq. baking chocolate
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. chopped walnuts (optional)
Preparation
    Melt shortening and chocolate over low heat.
    Remove from heat.
    Add sugar and stir well.
    Add eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each egg.
    Add remaining ingredients.
    This is made in the saucepan, beating with a spoon.
    Grease and flour 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
