Chess Pie(A Southern Dish) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 (1 lb.) box brown sugar
1 tsp. flavoring
4 eggs (may use egg substitute)
1 tsp. lemon juice
1/4 c. milk, half and half or cream
4 Tbsp. margarine, melted and cooled
1 unbaked (9-inch) pie shell
Preparation

In medium bowl, combine brown sugar, eggs, milk, lemon juice and liqueur or flavoring.
Beat well until smooth and well mixed. Add margarine slowly, beating until thoroughly mixed.
Pour into unbaked shell.
To keep edges of crust from burning, put strips of aluminum foil around edges until last few minutes of baking.
Bake in preheated oven at 325\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
Cool before cutting.
Serve warm or cold, plain or with ice cream (vanilla, pecan, pralines and cream) or whipped cream.
