Cocoa Swirl Coffee Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. flour
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. shortening
2/3 c. orange juice
3/4 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. cocoa
3/4 c. + 2 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 tsp. grated orange peel
1/2 c. chopped nuts
3 Tbsp. melted butter
Preparation

Combine
flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in mixing bowl. Cut
in
shortening with a pastry blender until mixture resembles coarse
crumbs.
Add
eggs,
orange juice and peel; stir
just until blended.
Set batter aside.
Combine powdered sugar, nuts and cocoa in a small bowl.\tStir in melted butter to
form\ta crumb
mixture.
Spread
3/4
cup reserved batter evenly on bottom
of\ta greased 8-inch pan.
Sprinkle half of crumb
mixture over
batter.
Spread
with one cup batter and sprinkle
with remaining crumb mixture.
Cover with remaining batter.
Bake
at 350\u00b0
for
35
to
40 minutes or until cake tester\tinserted
in center
comes out clean.
Cool slightly; spread with Orange Glaze. serve warm.
