Squash Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. sour cream
    3 eggs, beaten well
    1 c. chopped pecans
    salt and pepper to taste
    1/2 packet Hidden Valley Ranch dressing
    1 to 1 1/2 c. grated Cheddar cheese (may use Swiss and Cheddar)
    1/2 large onion, diced and sauteed (optional)
    1 clove garlic or garlic powder to taste (optional)
    1 c. breadcrumbs (may add a little more if desired) or approximately 12 saltines, crushed
    1/2 lb. sausage, cooked and well drained or 1/2 lb. Italian sausage, kielbasa, ham or bacon
    6 to 8 squash, cut into 1-inch pieces, cooked and smashed (squash must be well drained, use a colander)
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients together and pour into a buttered casserole.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
