Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    3 c. lime (household)
    5 lb. sugar
    2 gal. cold water
    1/2 gal. vinegar
    5 tsp. pickling spices
Preparation
    Put sliced cucumbers in lime water and let stand 24 hours. Drain.
    Soak 4 hours in cold water, changing water very hour. Bring vinegar to a boil. Add sugar and spices.
    Pour over cucumbers and let stand overnight.
    Next morning, bring to a boil and boil slowly for 1 hour.
    Pack into jars and pour syrup over pickles and seal.
