Peach Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 lb. fresh peaches, peeled, pitted and cut into 1/2-inch slices
    2/3 c. plus 2 tsp. sugar
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. vegetable shortening
    1 c. heavy cream
    vanilla ice cream
Preparation
    In a large bowl, combine the peaches with 2/3 cup sugar; toss well. Spoon the fruit into a shallow 10-cup baking dish and dot with butter.
