Hamburger Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 to 2 lb. ground beef
    1 can cream of mushroom soup
    1 (8 oz.) carton sour cream
    1 (8 oz.) small size box elbow macaroni
    1 onion (small, optional)
    sliced American cheese
Preparation
    Brown ground beef and onion.
    Drain.
    Cook macaroni according to directions on box; drain.
    Mix ground beef, mushroom soup, 1/2 can of water, sour cream and cooked noodles.
    Top with sliced cheese (approximately 8 to 10 slices).
    Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes until cheese melts.
