Polish Sweet Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 pkg. dry yeast
1/2 c. lukewarm water
2 c. milk
1 1/4 c. butter or half margarine
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
6 eggs, beaten
10 c. flour (approximately)
2 tsp. lemon rind or orange
1 c. raisins
Preparation

Soften yeast in lukewarm water.
Scald milk.
Add shortening, sugar and salt; cool to lukewarm.
Add flour to make a thin batter.
Add yeast, eggs and rind; beat well.
Add enough flour or rest of flour to make soft dough.
Turn onto lightly floured board; knead until satiny.
Form into ball; place in greased bowl. Cover and let rise until double in bulk.
Form into loaves and put on topping.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
Yields 4 loaves.
