Date Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dates or candy orange slices
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 lb. (2 1/4 c.) light brown sugar
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cut dates or candy in small pieces.
    Add to flour and salt. Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
    Spread in 9 x 13 x 2-inch greased pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 about 45 minutes.
    Cool in pan.
    Cut in 1 x 3-inch bars.
    Dust with powdered sugar.
