Ingredients

1/2 lb. butter
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. baking soda
3 1/2 c. plain flour, sifted
Preparation

Cream butter and sugar; cream together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and eggs; blend well.
Stir soda into buttermilk and add to creamed mixture alternately with flour.
Pour into greased and floured 9-inch pans.
Bounce pans to remove air bubbles.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
