Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. boiling water
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 1/3 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. rolled oats
    1 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation
    Pour boiling water over the oats and let stand for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, cream the shortening with the two sugars.
    Then beat in the eggs; stir in the cooled oats mixture.
    Sift the flour and other dry ingredients together and add to the batter.
    Stir in the nuts.
    Bake for 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
