Dumplings - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
4 tsp. baking powder
3 Tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk
Preparation

Sift flour, salt and baking powder together.
Cut in shortening with knife or finger tips.
Add milk to make a soft dough.
Dough is dropped a tablespoon at a time on chicken or meat stews the last 15 to 50 minutes of cooking.
The kettle must be covered closely and cover must not be removed during cooking.
