Fried Venison Round Steak - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/4 lb. steak per person, or more
1/2 stick butter
flour
salt and pepper
Preparation

Lay meat on a cutting board and make cuts every 1/4-inch on each side, sideways and lengthways.
Do this on both sides of the steak, but only cut in about 1/3-inch of the width of the steak. Heat a skillet to medium-hot with 1/2 stick of butter for grease. Don't let the butter burn.
Take each steak and lay on the back of your hand. This will spread open the knife cuts.
Sprinkle flour and salt and pepper over each side and fry until brown on each side.
Serve immediately after removal from skillet.
Take 1/4 cup of water and pour into the skillet, stir with contents of the skillet and serve like gravy over rice or potatoes.
