Chicken And Dumplings - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. chicken
    1 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. poultry seasoning
    about 6 c. water
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1/2 c. ice water
Preparation
    Combine chicken, minced onion, salt, pepper, poultry seasoning and water.
    Bring to a boil; cover and simmer until chicken is cooked and tender.
    Remove chicken from broth.
    Bone chicken.
    If necessary, add water to broth to make 6 cups.
    Return chicken to broth and bring to a boil.
    Combine flour with ice water to make soft dough.
    Knead gently 30 seconds.
    Tear off small pieces and drop into boiling broth.
    Cover and reduce heat.
    Simmer 30 minutes.
    Serves 6 to 8.
