Toffee Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 sticks oleo
    1 c. sugar
    2 to 3 Tbsp. maple syrup
    2 Tbsp. water
    1 small pkg. chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Melt butter, stir in
    sugar
    and
    add
    water and syrup. Simmer until it reaches a temperature of 290\u00b0.
    Pour in finely chopped pecans.
    Spread in\ta
    thin buttered pan.
    Melt chocolate
    chips in double
    boiler.\tSpread\ton
    after
    toffee
    has cooled.\tWhen chocolate is cooled, break into pieces and store in an airtight container.
