Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. butter flavor
    1 1/2 oz. bottle red food color
    3 tsp. cocoa
    2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream shortening, sugar, eggs and flavors.
    Make paste of cocoa and food colors.
    Add to first mixture, alternately.
    Add flour and buttermilk.
    Mix soda and vinegar in small bowl (will fizz up).
    Add to batter.
    Blend.
    Bake in three 9-inch pans for 20 to 25 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Let cool completely.
    Cover with frosting.
