Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1/4 c. butter, margarine or vegetable oil
    1 medium onion, thinly sliced
    1/2 medium green pepper, diced
    2 c. stewed tomatoes with juice
    1 tsp. salt
    dash of pepper
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Heat butter in saucepan; add onion, green pepper and rice. Cook and stir over high heat until lightly browned.
    Add tomatoes, water, salt and pepper.
    Mix well.
    Bring gently to boil.
    Cover tightly, lower heat and simmer gently for 30 minutes.
    Serves 4 to 6.
