Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted cake flour
    1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 large egg
    1/4 c. butter, melted
    1 c. pitted dates, slivered
Preparation
    In the large bowl of an electric mixer, stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar.
    Add buttermilk, egg and butter.
    Beat at medium speed until batter is smooth.
    Fold in dates.
    Turn into a greased and floured 9-inch square cake pan.
    Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven until a cake tester inserted in center comes out clean (40 to 45 minutes).
    Cut in squares and serve warm with lemon sauce and garnish of cream cheese whipped all fluffy.
