Punch Bowl Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 large box vanilla instant pudding
    1 can cherry pie filling
    1 large can crushed pineapple, drained
    1 large container whipped topping
    nuts
    red maraschino cherries
    coconut (optional for garnish)
Preparation
    Bake cake in a 9 x 13-inch pan following directions on box of mix.
    After cake has cooled, cut in half and break into chunks. Place half of cake pieces in punch bowl.
    Layer half of pineapple, pie filling and whipped topping over cake.
    Repeat, ending with whipped topping.
