Wild Rice And Pecan Dressing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2/3 c. uncooked wild rice
    2 1/2 c. water
    6 Tbsp. butter
    1 large onion, thinly sliced
    1 c. coarsely chopped pecans
    1 slice whole-wheat bread, crumbled
    2 oz. turkey ham
    1 garlic clove, minced
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. freshly ground black pepper
    1/4 c. fresh parsley, packed into a cup
Preparation
    Wash wild rice in 3 changes of hot tap water.
    Place in a medium-sized saucepan with water.
    Simmer, covered, 45 minutes or until water is absorbed.
