Lentil Pate - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. lentils, uncooked
    4 c. water
    1 1/2 c. chopped onions
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    2 tsp. vegetable oil
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 garlic cloves
Preparation
    Bring water to boil.
    Add dry lentils and cover.
    Simmer 45 minutes until lentils are tender.
    Remove from heat and drain.
