Mom'S Melt-In-Your-Mouth Pot Roast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 to 2 Tbsp. shortening
    flour
    salt and pepper
    2 to 4 lb. beef pot roast
    1 to 2 Tbsp. instant minced onion
    1/2 bottle chili sauce
Preparation
    In heavy pot*, melt shortening. Coat meat lightly with flour, salt and pepper.
    Brown meat on each side in hot fat over medium-high heat. Sprinkle onion over top.
    Pour in chili sauce and 2 to 3 cups water to cover.
    Simmer, covered, at least 3 hours.
