2/3 c. butter
3 eggs
1/3 c. sour milk
2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sugar
3/4 c. jam
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
Preparation

Cream shortening; add sugar.
Add beaten egg yolks and jam. Sift the flour.
Measure; add baking powder, cinnamon and nutmeg and sift 3 times.
Dissolve soda in the sour milk.
Add flour and milk alternately to the mixture, beating well.
Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites and bake in 2 layer pans about 25 minutes in moderate oven (350\u00b0).
