Stuffed Green Peppers - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 large green peppers
    2 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    3 Tbsp. minced onion
    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1/2 c. instant rice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. dry white wine
    4 oz. grated sharp Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Split green peppers lengthwise into halves.
    Remove seeds, stems and membranes.
