Ingredients

2 c. brown sugar
1 1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. butter
1 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped pecans
pinch of salt
1 c. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Bring 2 cups brown sugar, water and 2 tablespoons butter to a full boil; let cool.
Beat remaining ingredients, except pecans, until well blended.
Place in 13 x 9-inch pan.
Sprinkle nut meats over dough.
Then pour 1st mixture over dough.
Bake at 325\u00b0 until dough rises to top and comes out clean when pierced with toothpick.
Cool before serving.
Top with Cool Whip, if desired.
