Strawberry Shortcake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 qt. strawberries, sliced
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter or margarine
2 large eggs
1 c. whipping cream
1/4 c. sifted powdered sugar
garnishes: whole strawberry and fresh mint sprigs
Preparation

Combine strawberries and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.
Combine flour and next 3 ingredients.
Cut in butter with a pastry blender until mixture is crumbly.
Add eggs, stirring until moistened. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
Knead lightly several times to form a ball.
(Dough will be grainy.)
Press into a wax paper-lined 8-inch round cake pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 minutes or until golden.
Cool in pan on a wire rack and peel off wax paper.
Cool on a wire rack.
