Salt Water Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    5 Tbsp. water
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    pinch of cream of tartar
Preparation
    Dissolve sugar in water.
    Add butter and cook without stirring to 290\u00b0.
    Add vanilla extract and cream of tartar.
    Pour into a buttered pan.
    When cool enough to handle, pull until white.
    Cut and wrap in waxed paper.
