Mrs. Aiken'S Cream Pie(1940) - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. milk
3/4 c. sugar
6 Tbsp. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
4 egg yolks or 2 whole eggs
1 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Combine flour, sugar and salt.
Add scalded milk. Cook in double boiler until thickened, stirring constantly.
Pour small amount of mixture over eggs, stirring vigorously.
Return to double boiler and cook 10 minutes longer.
Add vanilla and cool, then pour into baked pie shell.
Top with Cool Whip or use meringue.
