Black Walnut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. Crisco
    4 eggs
    3 c. plain flour (White Lily)
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. black walnuts
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Sift together flour and soda; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk and vanilla.
    Beat well.
    Fold in walnuts.
    Spoon batter into 3 greased and floured 9-inch cake pans.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes or until done.
    Cool thoroughly on wire racks.
