Taco Rice Skillet - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. hamburger
    1 small onion
    1 (16 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 c. rice
    1/2 to 3/4 pkg. taco mix
    1 c. shredded cheese
    2 c. shredded lettuce (optional)
Preparation
    Brown meat and onion.
    Drain tomatoes.
    Keep juice.
    Add water to juice to make 2 1/2 cups.
    Add tomatoes, liquid, rice and taco mix to meat.
    Simmer about 25 minutes.
    Stir to keep from sticking occasionally.
    Before you serve, melt cheese on top and then lettuce on top.
    You can also crumble tacos and put on top.
