English Brown Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. beef, cut in 1-inch cubes
2 1/2 c. boiling water
2 Tbsp. chopped onion
1/2 clove garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. paprika
dash of allspice
1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. tomato juice
1 c. pearl onions
1/2 c. sliced carrots
1 c. cubed potatoes
1/2 c. diced celery
Preparation

Flour
meat
and brown in a little hot fat.
Add water, onion, seasonings
and
tomato juice.
Cover and simmer for 2 hours. Add vegetables and cook until done, about 1/2 hour.
