Baked Lentils With Cheese - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 3/4 c. lentils, rinsed
    2 c. water
    1 whole bay leaf
    2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/8 tsp. each: marjoram, sage and thyme
    2 large onions, chopped
    2 cloves garlic
    2 c. canned tomatoes
    2 large carrots, sliced
    1/2 c. thinly sliced celery
    1 green pepper, chopped
    2 Tbsp. finely chopped parsley
    3 c. shredded cheese
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Combine in shallow 9 x 13-inch baking dish the lentils and the next 8 ingredients.
    Cover tightly; bake for 30 minutes.
    Uncover and stir in carrots and celery.
    Bake, covered, for 40 minutes, until vegetables are tender.
    Stir in pepper and parsley.
    Sprinkle with cheese on top.
    Bake, uncovered, for 5 minutes, or until cheese melts.
    Serves 6.
