Pepper Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    12 green peppers
    12 red peppers
    12 onions
    3 Tbsp. salt
    2 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
    hot pepper (optional)
Preparation
    Cover peppers with water and let stand 10 minutes; drain.
    Add onions with sugar, salt and vinegar; heat mixture to boiling point, 45 minutes and simmer 45 minutes.
