Standard Rolls - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. milk, scalded
1 stick butter
1/2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. salt
2 pkg. yeast (Red Star)
1/2 c. water (lukewarm)
5 to 6 c. flour, sifted
3 eggs, beaten well
Preparation

Combine scalded milk, butter, sugar and salt.
Cool to lukewarm. Soften yeast in lukewarm water. Stir and combine with cool milk mixture. Add beaten eggs.
Add about half the flour. Beat well. Add enough of the remaining flour to make a soft dough.
Mix thoroughly.
Knead dough on floured board until smooth.
Place dough in warm greased bowl.
Brush with melted shortening. Cover and let rise 2 hours.
On floured board, shape into rolls as desired.
Place on a greased baking sheet.
Let rise 45 to 60 minutes. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
