Ingredients

1 chicken (3 lb.), cut in serving-size pieces
6 Tbsp. flour
1/4 c. salad oil
1 small onion, sliced and separated
1/2 clove garlic, minced
1 envelope instant chicken broth
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. apple cider
1/2 c. water
2 Tbsp. catsup
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
Preparation

Wash chicken pieces; pat dry.
Shake,
a few at a time, in 4 tablespoons of the flour,
in
a
paper bag, to coat well (save remaining flour for
later).
Brown
chicken
slowly
in salad oil in a large
frying
pan; remove from pan.
Set aside for later.
