Pepper Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. onion
    4 c. green tomatoes
    4 c. green pepper
    2 c. red pepper
    1/2 c. salt
    4 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 Tbsp. pickle spice
Preparation
    Chop all vegetables and sprinkle with salt; let set overnight. Next day, rinse and drain vegetables.
    Pour vinegar, sugar and water over vegetables with pickle spice (wrapped in cheesecloth). Bring to a boil.
    Boil slow for ten minutes.
    Put in hot jars.
