Hot Yeast Rolls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. lukewarm water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. salt
    2 pkg. yeast
    1 egg
    1/2 c. shortening
    6 1/2 to 7 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine
    sugar and salt with 2 cups lukewarm water in a large mixing bowl.
    Dissolve yeast in the same mixture.
    Stir in
    egg. Add
    shortening.
    Add half the flour, stirring well. Add remaining
    flour
    gradually,
    stirring until dough leaves sides of the bowl.
    Place dough in a greased bowl, turning to grease the surface.
    Cover with a damp towel and place in the refrigerator
    for 1 hour.
    Punch the dough down and shape into rolls.
    Place
    on
    a baking sheet and let rise in a warm place for 2
    hours.
    Bake
    at
    400\u00b0
    for
    12 to 15 minutes.
    Yield: 3 1/2 dozen rolls.
