Shrimp Jambalaya - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    1/4 c. chopped green pepper
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 sliced smoked sausage
    1/2 c. water
    2 bay leaves
    1/2 tsp. dried thyme
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper
    dash of black pepper
    1 c. rice (raw)
    1 lb. shrimp
Preparation
    In saucepan, cook onion, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender.
    Stir in flour; blend well.
    Stir in undrained tomatoes, sausage, water, bay leaves, thyme, salt, basil, red pepper, pepper, uncooked rice and shrimp.
    Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook over medium heat.
    Stir frequently for 10 to 15 minutes until rice and shrimp are done.
    Remove bay leaves.
    Serve.
    Makes 6 servings.
