Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large firm green tomatoes
    1 c. corn meal
    season to taste
    shortening or oil
Preparation
    Cut tomatoes in 1/4-inch slices. Season. Dredge in corn meal. Heat oil in heavy skillet. Add tomatoes and fry slowly until browned, turning once. Yields 6 to 8 servings.
