Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. water
    1/2 c. chopped onion (1 medium)
    1/2 c. chopped celery (1 stalk)
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 (14 1/2 oz.) can low sodium tomatoes, cut up
    1/2 c. long grain rice
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. chili powder
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    few dashes bottled hot pepper sauce
Preparation
    In a large skillet, stir together the water, onion, celery and garlic.
    Bring to boiling; reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer for 2 minutes or until the vegetables are tender.
    Do not drain.
    Stir in the undrained tomatoes, rice, sugar, chili powder, salt, pepper and hot pepper sauce.
    Return to boiling; reduce heat.
    Cover and simmer for 20 to 25 minutes or until the rice is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
    Yield:
    4 servings.
