Chow Chow Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    20 green tomatoes, diced
    15 onions, sliced
    4 each green and red peppers, sliced
    6 diced carrots
    turmeric (for color)
    3 Tbsp. pickling spice
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. vinegar
Preparation
    Put all vegetables in pot with spices in cheesecloth.
    Add other ingredients.
    Cook until vegetables are just tender, stirring constantly.
    Put in sterile jars and seal.
