Down Home Limas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 qt. water
    2 pieces smoke ham, cut in 1/2-inch thick chunks
    1 (16 oz.) bag dried baby lima beans (don't soak)
    1 medium onion, quartered
    2 carrots, sliced
    1 rib celery, sliced
    1/2 tsp. black pepper
    1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
    8 oz. can tomato sauce
Preparation
    In a large pot, add water, ham, beans, onion, celery and carrots.
    Cook about 2 hours until beans are tender.
    Reduce heat; add black pepper, salt and tomato sauce.
    Stir and simmer for 30 minutes.
    Makes 8 servings.
