Canned Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 c. water
    1 c. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3 to 5 drops red food coloring
    4 1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    7 qt. apples, peeled and sliced
Preparation
    Bring water to boil.
    Stir sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and nutmeg into boiling water.
    Cook until mixture thickens.
    Add lemon juice and coloring.
    Pack apples into clean, quart jars to within 1 inch of top.
    Pour hot syrup over apples.
    Process in hot water bath for 20 minutes.
